This privacy policy sets out how the Thalidomide Society uses and protects any information that you give to the Thalidomide Society when you use this website and for membership, archival and project purposes.

The Thalidomide Society is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

Contact information including email address and telephone number/s

Demographic information such as postcode and address if you prefer us to write to you

       Photographs or other archival material

All contact information gathered will be stored on the secure Thalidomide Society database until you or someone acting on your behalf requests it to be removed. Only the Secretary to the Board of Trustees of the Thalidomide Society and appointed Society staff will have access to this database. The database is backed up on two external hard drives.

What we do with the information we gather

We require information to understand your needs and to provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:

Internal record keeping: the Society processes, collects and uses personal data for the purpose of archiving in the public interest. 

We may use information you share with us to improve our services. We may use information you choose to share with us to customise the website according to your interests.

From time to time, we may also use your information to contact you for research purposes. We may contact you by email, phone or mail unless you have told us you do not wish to be contacted.
